About the Area
Wyandotte (established 1854) has a population of over 24,000 and is located approximately eleven miles south of Detroit, on the Detroit River. It is one of the surrounding communities in the area south of Detroit called “Downriver.” This waterfront community contains a vibrant downtown shopping district of specialty shops and restaurants and an eclectic array of architecture, ranging from modest bungalows to modern condominiums or stately waterfront homes.
Wyandotte is situated near several major freeways, affording us easy access to the cultural, sporting, and four-season recreational activities of Detroit, Ann Arbor and Toledo.
The annual Wyandotte Street Art Fair draws over 200,000 fine artists and exhibitors from across the United States. It is one of the largest art fairs in Michigan.
