About the Program

The Ob/Gyn Residency is a four-year program and is accredited by the ACGME (Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education). The program accepts three residents per year.

The program offers experience in all areas of this specialty. It is designed to prepare the resident to practice Ob/Gyn in a community hospital setting. Since Henry Ford Genesys provides obstetrical care to thousands of patients each year with a substantial number of gynecologic surgeries performed annually, a resident has ample opportunity to gain experience in obstetric and gynecologic surgery.

Henry Ford Genesys Hospital is a founding member and training site in the Statewide Campus System (SCS) of Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Our affiliate residencies include Emergency Medicine, Family Practice, General Surgery, Internal Medicine, and Orthopedic Surgery. SCS is a partnership of 20 major teaching hospitals and Michigan State University offers all the benefits and advantages of a nationally recognized university combined with the opportunity for hands-on clinical training. SCS enhances the diversity of the clinical experience and strengthens the organization and planning for residency programs.
