Partners in Ministry
Henry Ford Genesys Hospital is a faith-based healthcare organization dedicated to transformation through innovation across the continuum of care. As one of the leading non-profit and Catholic health systems in the U.S., Henry Ford Genesys Hospital is committed to delivering compassionate, personalized care to all, with special attention to persons living in poverty and those most vulnerable. In FY2020, Henry Ford Genesys Hospital provided $2.4 billion in care of persons living in poverty and other community benefit programs. Henry Ford Genesys Hospital includes more than 160,000 associates and 40,000 aligned providers. The national health system operates more than 2,600 sites of care – including 139 hospitals and more than 40 senior living facilities – in 19 states and the District of Columbia, while providing a variety of services including clinical and network services, venture capital investing, investment management, biomedical engineering, facilities management, risk management, and contracting through Ascension’s own group purchasing organization.
We have created a new regional organizational structure for our hospitals and Ascension Medical Group (AMG), along with several realignments within our state leadership team, that will create a more integrated approach to our delivery of care and an improved experience for our patients.
Under the new structure, we will expand from three to four ministries-regions:
- Mid-Michigan: Henry Ford Genesys Hospital, Henry Ford St. Joseph Hospital, Henry Ford Standish Hospital and Henry Ford St. Mary’s Hospital
- Detroit East: Henry Ford Macomb-Oakland Hospital, Madison Heights and Warren campuses, Henry Ford St. John Hospital, Henry Ford River District Hospital
- Providence: Henry Ford Brighton Center for Recovery, Henry Ford Providence Hospital, Novi & Southfield campuses, Henry Ford Providence Rochester Hospital
To support more synergy between acute and ambulatory care, the AMG regions will also expand from three to four as noted above and will now include oversight and support of ambulatory services. The AMG regions will continue to be led by two dyad partners, overseeing clinical and operations, respectively.
This reorganized structure builds on the strong components of our foundation and creates a collaborative team approach that will remove barriers and roadblocks for patients and caregivers, resulting in greater ease of access wherever the patient is receiving care within our system.
