Internal Medicine Curriculum
The Henry Ford Macomb Internal Medicine Residency Program curriculum follows all of the requirements for training from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) common standards. The program was accredited by the ACGME on July 1, 2015.
The Ambulatory continuity training is scheduled throughout the residency as one half-day session per week as a PGY1 and one full-day session per week as a PGY2 and 3.

Mandatory electives (Must complete 1 block of each to be eligible for graduation):
Cardiology, Geriatrics, Emergency Medicine, Pulmonary, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Neurology, Endocrinology, Infectious Disease, Hematology/Oncology, Rheumatology, and 2 blocks Continuity Clinic.
Non-mandatory electives:
Electrophysiology, Allergy, DermatologyHeart Failure (HFH), Hepatology (HFH), non-operative Orthopedics, Sports Medicine, ENT, Sleep Medicine, Anesthesiology, Radiology, Ophthalmology or an additional month of any of the above-mentioned mandatory electives. Please note:
- Vacation will not be granted while rotating on IM Floors, Night Float or ICU blocks.
