The Psychiatry Residency at Henry Ford Jackson Hospital is a four-year program accredited by the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education. Our program provides an integrated environment for residents to work collaboratively with staff psychiatrists and support staff, gaining a broad range of outpatient and hospital experience.
Program Mission:
We train exceptional psychiatrists and improve mental health for Jackson and beyond. Our enthusiastic and dedicated faculty provide intensive teaching, supervision, and feedback. Our small department cares about its residents and cultivates meaningful relationships among trainees and mentors. We strive for continuous evaluation and improvement of our program. Residents develop advanced expertise in managing complex mental illness by caring for the underserved Jackson community, which has a high prevalence of substance abuse and trauma. We help our residents reach their full potential.
Program Vision:
The Henry Ford Jackson Hospital Psychiatry Residency is dedicated to recruit and graduate residents who will serve their community with a particular understanding for the under-served, high-rate substance use, and resource challenged. We focus on attracting residents from Michigan and beyond and increasing the number of physicians who will practice Psychiatry in South Central Michigan. Having the Psychiatry Residency program here in Jackson, MI increases the access to psychiatric care with increased patient education and expanded clinics for the local residents. We compassionately provide a heartfelt experience to every patient, member, and each other; we respectfully honor the commitment to our communities by acting with integrity, courage, and inclusion; we reliably deliver results on our promise to be leaders in safety and affordability, ensuring the health of our communities.
