Driving Health Equity Forward: Insights from the 2022 Health Equity Summit
In 2022, Henry Ford Innovations (HFI), in collaboration with the PINC AI™ Applied Sciences team, hosted the inaugural "Advancing Health Equity Through Innovation and Collaboration" event. This two-day event united global life sciences leaders with Henry Ford Health experts working to address health disparities in marginalized communities. The goal was to transform conversations into measurable actions that improve the health of millions.

Hypertension Program: Targeting Health Disparities in African American Communities
A program designed to address hypertension in young African American men was also highlighted by Henry Ford Health innovators. While still in development, this initiative shows the potential for collaboration in reducing health disparities through targeted, community-based approaches.
Reducing Infant Mortality in Underserved Populations

Mentorship for Future Healthcare Leaders
Henry Ford Health experts also presented their Department of Surgery High School Mentorship Program, which provides Detroit-based students with hands-on experience in the medical field. Dr. Ikenna Okereke noted that through this program, Henry Ford has provided invaluable opportunities for students from underrepresented communities to gain firsthand experience in healthcare. The program has opened doors for many of these students to pursue careers in the medical field, contributing to a more diverse healthcare workforce.
