Program Overview

Curriculum

The Podiatric curriculum is designed to provide comprehensive training rotations resulting in a high level of competency in Podiatric Surgery. The program provides technical and academic opportunities through challenging rotations and didactic.

Rotations

Clinical rotations are divided over the three-year program as follows:

PGY1 - Intern Year
Podiatric Medicine and Surgery 8+ Months
Infectious Disease 1 Month
Emergency Medicine 1 Month
Internal or Family Medicine 1 Month
Anesthesia 2 Weeks
Pathology 1 Week
PGY2 - Second Year
Podiatric Medicine and Surgery 9+ Months
General Surgery 2 Weeks
Micovascular or Vascular or Orthopedic Surgery

2 Weeks

Behavioral Medicine 1 Week
Radiology 2 Weeks
PMR, Neurology, Dermatology, Wound Care, Pain Management 2 at 2 Weeks
PGY3 - Third Year
Podiatric Medicine and Surgery 12 Months

Clinic

On site wound care clinic.

Didactics

  • Six scheduled Lectures per month
  • Weekly textbook chapter review
  • Bi-Monthly Journal Club
  • Monthly Cadaver Lab

Research

We have all the necessary tools to do research with two dedicated researchers available to the residents to publish a case or apply for an IRB for true research projects.
