Program Curriculum
The residency program is fully accredited by the ACGME and is affiliated with Wayne State University School of Medicine, Central Michigan University and St. George's University. Members of the faculty at Henry Ford St. John Hospital have faculty appointments from Wayne State University, Central Michigan University and St. George's University. The program is a 3-year program (PGY-1 through PGY-3) and has been approved for 12 positions per year. The curriculum is as follows:

Other possibilities, even outside of the state, will be considered based upon their applicability to Emergency Medicine and approved by the Program Director.
Residents will be required to complete Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Trauma Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support Courses early in their first year. These courses will be provided by Henry Ford St. John Hospital.
Medical students from Wayne State University School of Medicine, Central Michigan University and St. George's University rotate in the ED during their senior year. Rotators from other medical schools, both juniors and seniors, are encouraged and welcome although we have a limited number of positions.

- Emergency Medicine Weekly Lectures, Thursday 10:00 a.m. to 3:00p.m. (5 hours/week)
- E.M./Surgery Monthly Trauma Conferences, 1st Thursday (1 hour) and third Thursday (1 hour)
- Monthly Journal Club
- Daily Noon Lectures (various medical specialties and pediatrics), Monday - Friday (1 hour)
