We do lots of research
Henry Ford Health gets $80 million annual funding. We are in the top 20% of all institutions granted funding by the NIH and U.S. Public Health Service. We rank 1st in Michigan for NIH-research funding for non-university based health care systems.
We have multiple opportunities available, including translational & basic science as well as clinical research, with our direct faculty, which include 4 with dedicated research time. Additional access to research is available through our colleagues at Wayne St. University.
Additional perks of doing research in our program include 3 months protected time during your PGY-4 year, biostats + manuscript preparation help, the chance to present something annually during our Resident Research Day, and meeting participant financial support with accepted poster/presentation as detailed below.
Medical Student Research
Henry Ford Health provides medical students with the opportunity to engage in Otolaryngology research under the guidance of expert clinicians and researchers. Our program allows students to explore innovative research projects, gain hands-on experience, and contribute to advancements in the field.
We welcome medical students interested in research to review our available opportunities and apply. Applications are reviewed on a tri-annual basis.
