About the Program
Henry Ford Genesys Hospital is a 410 bed facility located in Grand Blanc, Michigan. Henry Ford Genesys Hospital has three cardiac catheterization labs, a specialized EP lab, 18 MICU beds, 10 CICU beds, 12 SICU beds, and 10 Ortho/Trauma beds. Henry Ford Genesys Hospital is a level 2 trauma center with greater than 75,000 Emergency Department visits each year.
Henry Ford Genesys Hospital Cardiovascular services are provided by the Henry Ford Genesys Heart Institute physicians as well as several other independent cardiovascular groups. The Cardiology fellowship ambulatory facilities will be located in the Professional Office Building attached to Henry Ford Genesys Hospital under the direction/supervision of the Henry Ford Genesys Heart Institute Cardiologists and Cardiovascular Surgeons. The ambulatory facility has 12 patient examination/procedure rooms, and has the capability to provide EKG’s, Holter monitoring, cardiac device interrogation, and minor procedures. Cardiac stress testing, echocardiography, and other cardiovascular services are directly adjacent to the ambulatory office. The ambulatory office also has a fellow office with computer access as well as a sleep room. Additional office space and computer access for the fellows is located just down the hall in Room 3642.
Each fellow will have one half day of clinic in the Henry Ford Genesys Heart Institute for at least 36 weeks per year. The fellow will be scheduled an individual panel of patients with follow-up appointments scheduled with the fellow. The cardiology fellow ambulatory clinic experience will be supervised by a faculty cardiologist who will be onsite and have minimal, if any, patient responsibilities while precepting .
