"Thanks to advice from my mom, when negativity presents itself with the disease, I have also learned more often than not to cancel that thought and find inner strength to educate others about this disorder.”
Darin's Story
When Darin Donahue came into this world, he had a number of light to brown pigmented birthmarks, known as café-au-lait-spots, on his skin. His mother explained to him that they were "the doctor’s thumb prints." At about age 12, Darin was officially diagnosed with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1).
Tracy's Story
What keeps me going is proving that there’s a place for everyone, and everyone deserves a chance, no matter what they look like. I owe it to my mom and sister who can’t fight any more. They’ve given me superpower to get my story told.”
