Trauma Recovery Center

Trauma is often thought of as an injury resulting from a motor vehicle crash or gunshot wound. However, trauma can be any event resulting in physical, emotional, or life-threatening harm that has lasting adverse effects on an individual. After a violent crime, some survivors may experience lasting negative effects impacting their mental health. The Trauma Recovery Center (TRC) is working to promote resiliency and holistic recovery for survivors following a crime.

Mission

To maximize the recovery of traumatically injured patients, families and communities through support, mental health services, education and access to resources.

  • Case Management
  • Care Coordination

Background

The Henry Ford Health Trauma Recovery Center was created in March of 2022 by an interdisciplinary team that includes representatives from trauma surgery, orthopaedic surgery, behavioral health, emergency medicine, pediatrics and the Office of Community Health, Equity, Wellness & Diversity. With the understanding that survivors of crime are faced with unique challenges on their road to recovery, the TRC is working to ease the burden for survivors and their families and facilitate holistic healing, regardless of financial status. Following the Trauma Recovery Center model created by the University of California- San Francisco, the TRC will be able to provide wrap around services including clinical case management and trauma-informed and evidence-based behavioral health services.

You do not need insurance to participate and there are no out of pocket costs associated with these services.

All are Welcome!
