About Me

Biographical Statement

Dr. Erin Tobin completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and a masters in Medical Sciences at Loyola University Chicago. She went to Wayne State University for graduate school where she received a masters and doctorate in clinical psychology, with a specialization in health psychology. Dr. Tobin completed her psychology internship program at John D. Dingell VA Medical Center in Detroit, MI and completed her postdoctoral fellowship in health psychology at Henry Ford Health System. 

She serves as the integrated clinical health psychologist in Academic Internal Medicine (AIM) at Henry Ford Hospital and is trained in many evidenced based psychological treatments. In AIM, she provides consultation and brief goal-directed therapies targeting stress, depression, anxiety, health-related distress, and behavior change. She also provides biofeedback as an evidenced based treatment option to address chronic pain, stress, and anxiety. She supervises clinical psychology doctoral students and fellows in this work. Her primary clinical and research interests include integrated care, chronic pain, and behavior change.

She is only able to see patients who receive their primary care services from the Academic Internal Medicine Clinic on K15 at the main hospital. She also provides consultations for the Executive Medicine program.

Research & Interests

Dr. Tobin is interested in how integrated care teams can work best to serve our patients needs. She collaborates with research teams to test psychological interventions that are integrated into medical settings or using technology. She also has an interest in health care disparities and explores health care utilization, particularly among underserved populations. She is a member of the Integrated Care Committee with the Michigan Psychological Association.
