Jason Dilly, Harpreet Gill, David Goldman, Tina Turner, Lily Van Laere, Fuxiang Zhang, and Allan Rinke (at Lake Orion location) will provide a prescription for glasses. About Me

Biographical Statement

Dr. Segar completed her medical education at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University. The following year, her Transitional Year Internship was at Sinai-Grace Hospital at Wayne State University, during the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic. Her residency in Ophthalmology was at the Kresge Eye Institute at Wayne State University, where she developed her passion for eye care in the pediatric population. During her fellowship training at Indiana University in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus, she gained a broad skillset while learning with seasoned experts in the field. From her training and experiences, she developed clinical interests in pediatric cataracts, pediatric glaucoma, retinopathy of prematurity, pediatric and adult strabismus, and patient advocacy.

Care Philosophy

When a patient comes to me for their eye care, I understand it to be a significant privilege and responsibility. I believe in being truly present with every patient and each family during our time together. I aim to build relationships with my patients, in which we can have honest conversations about care options. I take delivering my best care very seriously, between prescribing correct eyeglasses for children to performing safe and thoughtful surgeries. Pediatric ophthalmology is a wonderfully complex field, and my goal is to continually learn by exchanging ideas and approaches with other pediatric ophthalmologists around the world.
