About Me
Biographical Statement
Dr. Christine Schad is a Colon & Rectal Surgeon specializing in diseases of the colon, rectum, and anus with a particular focus on colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, and benign colon pathology. In addition to her expertise in all general aspects of colon and rectal surgery, Dr. Schad has a special interest in advanced minimally invasive techniques. She is board certified in both Colon and Rectal Surgery and General Surgery.
Dr. Schad completed her undergraduate education at The Pennsylvania State University and earned her medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine. She then completed a General Surgery residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in Colon and Rectal Surgery at Washington University in St. Louis. Since graduation, she has worked at the South Texas Veterans Health Care System and was on the faculty at UT Health San Antonio School, Long School of Medicine. Before joining Henry Ford, she was a Staff Surgeon at the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center in Detroit.
Dr. Schad has a strong interest in surgical education and is committed to providing the highest quality of care. She takes pride in helping patients feel comfortable and empowered to discuss a wide range of colorectal conditions, from constipation and hemorrhoids to colorectal cancer.
