D'Angela S Pitts, MD

Biographical Statement

Dr. Pitts is a board-certified OB/GYN and Maternal Fetal Medicine physician, the system's Director of Maternal Health Equity and Associate Program Director of the OB/GYN residency program at Henry Ford Health. She is charged with reducing maternal morbidity and mortality and addressing disparities in maternal care at her institution. She is active in medical education, global health and reducing health care disparities by implementing initiatives to promote health equity for diverse, health-vulnerable populations.

Originally from Detroit, Dr. Pitts attended Grand Valley State University for her undergraduate degree in biomedical sciences and medical school at Howard University College of Medicine with a focus on underserved patients and improving health equity by engaging community leaders. She completed her Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at Howard University Hospital and Maternal Fetal Medicine fellowship at University of Michigan.
