Titles: Surgical Director, Kidney and Pancreas Transplantations
I specialize in Kidney and Pancreas Transplantation, Donor Nephrectomy and Pediatric Kidney Transplantation.
I received my medical school education from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City. I trained in general surgery at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center and received additional training in transplant surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. I am board certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery and I have completed an ASTS certified multi-organ transplant fellowship. This means my expertise is in transplant surgery of the kidney, pancreas and liver as well as performing minimally invasive kidney donor surgery. My clinical and special medical interests include: liver, kidney and pancreas transplantations; donor nephrectomies. I am also the chief of transplantation at the Children's Hospital of Michigan, and I have a special interest in kidney transplantation in children.
Care Philosophy:
I provide comprehensive care for transplant patients of all ages, and for patients suffering from end stage liver and renal diseases as well as patients suffering from diabetes and hepatobiliary diseases. I provide this care with compassion and in a respectful, supportive, yet relaxed atmosphere. Finally, I provide cutting-edge care by keeping up-to-date with the latest advances in the fields of transplant and hepatobiliary surgery.
