Biographical Statement
Rita T. Kainaya is a licensed, clinical social worker who specializes in adult behavioral health in an outpatient or virtual setting. She has worked in the field for over 20 years in numerous areas of the field such as family, children and youth, adults, addiction, behavioral health, delinquency and abuse and neglect. She became interested in behavioral health after she discovered how people's minds and emotions can affect every aspect of their lives.
She is passionate about helping patients and families get through difficult times and things that have happened in their life as well as helping them get closure for trauma that has negatively affected all aspects of their lives.
Her clinical areas of interest include are depression, anxiety, PTSD, abuse, women's behavioral health, LGBTQ+ behavioral health, addiction to food specifically, marital and relationship issues, trauma, bariatrics, and mood disorders. Rita has had advanced training in CBT and DBT, bariatric, and training in dementia.
She received her Master of Social Work at Wayne State University in 1998.
