Rebecca G Chacko, MD

Biographical Statement

Dr. Chacko was born and raised in Ontario, Canada and completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Windsor, majoring in biology with a minor in psychology. She earned her medical degree from St. George’s University, graduating cum laude. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Beaumont Health in Royal Oak, Michigan, and then dedicated an additional year to serve as chief medical resident for the program.

Following her residency, Dr. Chacko pursued a fellowship in hematology and medical oncology at Henry Ford Health. Throughout her training, she was actively involved in medical research, presenting her findings at regional and international conferences and published several papers. Her clinical interests center on breast cancer and promoting health and wellness among breast cancer survivors. Additionally, Dr. Chacko is passionate about public health policy and has served on several committees advocating for necessary changes for patients at the national level. These opportunities have strengthened Dr. Chacko’s overall commitment to comprehensive patient care.

I am dedicated to delivering personalized care to my patients by utilizing the latest therapeutic options, meticulously analyzing diagnostic studies, and integrating a multidisciplinary approach. I believe in partnering with each patient and their loved ones throughout the treatment journey, with the ultimate goal of helping them thrive despite the challenges of difficult diagnoses.

Research Interests

Dr. Chacko has a special interest in breast cancer, with a particular focus on improving care for underrepresented patient populations, including premenopausal women and minority racial groups. She has conducted studies aimed at understanding the social disparities that affect cancer care, to further improve outcomes for all patients. Through her research, Dr. Chacko is committed to addressing these disparities and advocating for equitable treatment options in the fight against breast cancer.
