Henry Ford-GoHealth Urgent Care Opens New Center in Bloomfield Hills
BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich. (September 14, 2022) – Henry Ford-GoHealth Urgent Care opened a new center in Bloomfield Hills today, its second in Oakland County. The center is located in the Village Knoll shopping center at 3580 W. Maple Rd., just east of Lahser and next to Starbucks. Henry Ford-GoHealth Urgent Care’s new Bloomfield Hills location is among 15 new centers opening throughout the year.
"Ensuring convenient access to affordable healthcare is the key to building healthy communities,” said Laurie Dietzel, Market Vice President, Henry Ford-GoHealth Urgent Care. "Bloomfield Hills is a vibrant and tight-knit community, and we are proud to be a part of it. We look forward to providing those who live and work here with convenient access to urgent care that is directly connected to the vast services, expertise and deep community roots of Henry Ford Health."
The Bloomfield Hills location is Henry Ford-GoHealth Urgent Care’s eighth center to open this year, following the openings of the Chesterfield, Bruce Township, Fraser, Livonia, Clinton Township, West Bloomfield and Southgate centers earlier this year. Additional locations are expected to open in Dearborn Heights, Canton, Taylor, St. Clair Shores and Berkley in the coming months.
Henry Ford-GoHealth Urgent Care’s new centers are expected to create about 80 jobs for healthcare professionals. Approximately 8-10 team members will work at the Bloomfield Hills location when it is fully staffed.
About the new Bloomfield Hills center
Henry Ford-GoHealth Urgent Care's new center in Bloomfield Hills provides the community with a more affordable option for safe and efficient care outside of higher-cost settings like the emergency department. It also provides the community with a direct connection to Henry Ford Health's robust network of care, which regularly earns national recognition for excellence in quality, safety, research and innovation.
“Our community has become accustomed to on-demand, seamlessly connected services that are affordable and accessible, including healthcare,” said Doug Ditri, Henry Ford Health’s Chief Operating Officer of System Ambulatory Operations. “Our partnership provides Metro Detroit with high quality urgent care services that are convenient, close to home and more affordable than a trip to the emergency department. With these new urgent care centers, we are making ourselves even more available to our patients where and when they need us.”
The new location will offer treatment for non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries, on-site X-ray services and COVID-19 testing. Healthcare providers at Henry Ford-GoHealth can also prescribe and fill COVID-19 oral antiviral treatments if clinically indicated after evaluation. The center will serve the community from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Those seeking care can be seen quickly and easily by walking into any Henry Ford-GoHealth Urgent Care center or going online to save a spot and pre-register. In addition to treating non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries, the center will offer sports physicals for kids.
Henry Ford Health Expands Access to On-Demand Care
The Henry Ford-GoHealth Urgent Care centers are located in retail spaces and are meant to complement the same-day care clinics within Henry Ford Health medical centers. The partnership enables Henry Ford Health to serve new customers who don’t have a Henry Ford Health provider as well as existing patients who need immediate or urgent care outside regular business hours.
“Patients who visit Henry Ford-GoHealth Urgent Care centers and need follow-up care can be conveniently referred directly to one of our specialists, which makes the care experience seamless,” Ditri said. “Information about anything that happens in our urgent care facilities is easily accessible to our providers during subsequent visits.”
A Unique Healthcare Environment
Henry Ford-GoHealth Urgent Care centers feature an innovative, award-winning design. Wood accents, curved surfaces and customer-friendly technology create a uniquely comfortable environment. Widescreen monitors allow patients to follow along as providers update their charts. Unified electronic medical records can be accessed by caregivers across the Henry Ford Health network.
“Our centers were designed with our customers’ wellbeing in mind,” continued Dietzel. “From our proprietary consumer-oriented technology to our efficient workflows and our color palette, warm materials and light, our patients experience a sense of ease and healing at every stage of their visit.”
GoHealth Urgent Care was the first healthcare company to win the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) U.S. Design and Development Award. The honor recognizes the premier design and development trends of retail projects, new developments, renovation and expansion projects, and retail store design within the U.S.
