Director, Actor Paul Feig Contributes Gift to Henry Ford Health System COVID-19 Emergency Needs Fund

DETROIT – Paul Feig, creator of Freaks & Geeks and director of BRIDESMAIDS, SPY and GHOSTBUSTERS (2016) and a Michigan native, has made a generous donation to Henry Ford Health System’s COVID-19 Emergency Needs Fund. This fund was created to provide immediate support for Henry Ford patients and staff affected by the COVID-19 outbreak, as well as equipment and supplies for frontline healthcare workers.

“I am a proud Michigander and have never lost my emotional connection to Detroit, which I have always admired for its strength and resilience in the face of any challenge. This gift to Henry Ford Health System is in honor of the city and its people, and I encourage anyone else with the means to donate in order to help win the fight against COVID-19 in Southeast Michigan,” said Feig.

A Mt. Clemens native, Feig’s support is part of a targeted effort to provide vital resources for a wide range of needs related to the pandemic. Some of these include helping to deliver groceries to the homes of immunosuppressed patients, securing the proper personal protective equipment frontline healthcare workers need to stay safe, assisting with testing and care costs for COVID-19 patients and helping to distribute reliable COVID-19 information and hygiene supplies to vulnerable populations.
