Their responsibilities encompass taking detailed medical histories, performing contact lens fittings, and even assisting in surgical settings. This dynamic position offers a unique blend of patient interaction and technical skills.
Our comprehensive training approach
The Eye Care Assistant Training Program at Henry Ford Health is a 12-month, immersive learning experience. As a full-time team member, you'll receive on-the-job training at one of our state-of-the-art Ophthalmology sites. By the end of your training, you'll be fully prepared to sit for your certification exam, opening doors to a rewarding career in eye care. Visit the certification center to learn more.
Program requirements:
- High School diploma or GED
- Clinical setting experience preferred (but not required)
