Healing Through Music with the Jackson Symphony

Each month, professional musicians from the Jackson Symphony Orchestra (JSO) perform live for patients, their families and care teams attending appointments at the Henry Ford Cancer-Jackson clinics. Each performance features different musicians and music selections that contribute to a healing environment.

The JSO has brought world-class music to its community since 1949.They innovate and collaborate in ways that enrich and elevate lives in their community through the power of music.  

 

Dates

Wednesday, October 25th - Solo violin performance at 1 PM- Infusion Center

Thursday, November 30th - Solo performance at 11 AM- Infusion Center

Friday, December 22nd - String Quartet Performance at 11 AM- Radiation Oncology waiting room | Solo performance at 11 AM- Infusion Center

 

This series is presented by the David DiChiera Music Therapy Program, graciously supported by the Marvin, Betty and Joanne Danto Family Foundation. The Program honors the legacy of Dr. DiChiera, who was the legendary and beloved founder of the Michigan Opera Theatre; a pillar of the Detroit community, who always believed in the transformative and healing power of music.
