Crushing Pancreatic Cancer

This tumor represents what tried to kill me. I love it and I hate it. But I knew in the end I’d be stronger.” – Nicole Tringer

Pancreatic cancer patient Nicole Tringer took celebrating survivorship to another level by using a sledgehammer to destroy a 3D-printed replica of her tumor created by the Henry Ford Innovation Institute.

Nicole’s tumor was recreated using CT imaging scans from her initial cancer diagnosis as part of the Innovation Institute’s “Crushing Cancer Program” that works to empower cancer patients.

Along with Nicole, several patients participated in the Innovation Institute’s “Crushing Cancer” sessions. All are patients of David Kwon, M.D., oncology surgeon and Medical Director, Multi-Disciplinary Pancreas Clinic at Henry Ford Hospital.
