Breast milk is considered the gold standard of care by the World Health Organization and Center for Disease Control. Breast milk gives all the nutrition babies need. When a mom is unable to provide her baby with her own milk, Henry Ford offers a safe and healthy option.

The Henry Ford Milk Bank gives moms with a low milk supply – or who are unable to breastfeed for other reasons – a way to give their baby the many benefits of breast milk. We carefully screen donors, and collect, process, and distribute donated milk so that babies who need it can receive a safe, pasteurized extra source of nutrition.

About the Henry Ford Milk Bank

The Henry Ford Milk Bank strives to improve health outcomes for infants in need through the distribution of safe, pasteurized donor human milk. Essential to the bank’s mission is advocating for breastfeeding support and promoting the equitable provision of pasteurized donor human milk. The bank is developed with the Human Milk Banking Association of North America (HMBANA), an organization that sets the standards for nonprofit donor milk banking in North America.
