Life after Fellowship

We offer fellows the opportunity to gain strong clinical and research experience, providing them with a multitude of career options upon completion of the program. Former graduates have gone on to distinguish themselves in clinical practice, education, and research. Graduates have accepted a wide variety of academic and prestigious private practice positions.

Approximately one-third of our graduates have pursued academic careers at institutions such as Baylor University, Tulane University, University of Tennessee, University of Miami, Medical University of South Carolina, Ohio State University, and Henry Ford Hospital. Virtually all of the hospital-based and private Nephrology practices in the metropolitan Detroit area are also well represented by Henry Ford graduates.

A significant number of our recent graduates have pursued additional training in critical care, transplantation, interventional nephrology, or laboratory research. Whether they choose private practice, group practice, or academic pursuits, our fellows leave fully prepared to become national leaders in health care.
