Yes Ma'am
The Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital "Yes Ma’am" program provides free mammograms to uninsured women in the Downriver community on an annual basis. The program, started over in 1999 as a partnership with Zonta Downriver. The program focuses on helping the women of the Downriver community take the proper steps towards prevention and early detection of breast cancer.
Free breast exams and mammograms
Our two free mammogram and breast exam events are held throughout the year. Held in May and October these events do have limited space and appointments are required. To qualify for the free breast exams and mammograms women must meet certain criteria:
- No screening mammography health insurance coverage
- The need for a mammogram will be determined by a physician at the time of exam
Breast care at the clinic for the working uninsured:
Woman can visit the Clinic for the Working Uninsured at any point during the year for preventive care and exams, patients must be employed but uninsured to qualify. Call
Additional programs
Patients may enroll with BCCCP for a free screening mammogram if you are between the ages of 40-64 and are unemployed and uninsured. Once enrolled in the program and after the clinical exam the patient may request to have their mammogram performed at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital or Henry Ford Health Center - Brownstown.
