Art Workshops with Detroit College of Creative Studies
The arts have powerful healing properties because art connects your mind and your body. Henry Ford Cancer has teamed up with Detroit's College of Creative Studies to connect our patients and their loved ones with a series of art workshops led by CCS instructors. All supplies are provided at no cost, but please register to participate- space is limited!
Dates Offered:
Create beautiful and functional pieces of art using clay that does not require a kiln. Projects may include vessels, mobiles, jewelry and sculptures.
This is an 8-week free workshop for Henry Ford Cancer patients and post-treatment survivors. All materials will be provided.
Classes meet Monday evenings September 30th-November 18th, 6:00-7:30 pm (6 sessions).
Discover the magic of glass! Working with hot, molten glass, learn to make flowers, candy canes, ornaments, paperweights and more. Glass blowing, slumping and molding will be introduced. Ages 16 and over.
Classes meet Sundays, October 20th- November 10th, 9:00am-12:00pm (4 sessions).
Location: College of Creative Studies Glass Shop, Room C*117
Experiment with paint, fabric, paper, and found objects. Create collages, assemblages, and sculptures that express your unique creativity.
Classes meet Wednesdays, October 30th-December 4th, 6:00-9:00pm (6 sessions).
