Henry Ford Health’s Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship Program provides a comprehensive pathway into the high-demand field of pharmacy. As an apprentice, you will be paid to develop essential skills and hands-on experience, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. The demand for pharmacy technicians continues to rise, so you'll be positioned to thrive in a career that promises both personal and professional development, while contributing to the future of health.

How the apprenticeship works

  • During your 12-month apprenticeship, you will work 36-40 hours per week at one of our Henry Ford pharmacies, while completing the required training sessions.
  • When you complete the program, you are required to pass the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam, paid for by Henry Ford Health.
  • Commit to employment at Henry Ford Health for at least one year after completing the apprenticeship.

Program requirements

  • Have a high school diploma or GED
  • Complete an online screening assessment
  • Apply for a temporary pharmacy technician license, paid for by Henry Ford Health
  • Complete a background check and State of Michigan fingerprinting
