The Vattikuti Urology Institute at Henry Ford Hospital is named in honor of Rajendra and Padma Vattikuti, who donated $20 million to support urological disease research and treatment programs.
"We have helped make Raj and Padma Vattikuti's vision become a reality - by creating one of the leading prostate cancer centers in the world, where patients come for the very latest treatment techniques and the most advanced integrative medicine programs," says Mani Menon, M.D., Institute director.
The Vattikuti Urology Institute consistently ranks among the top centers in the United States by U.S. News and World Report and is the world's most experienced center in robotic prostate surgery.
Henry Ford's Urology program is known nationally for its outstanding clinical practice. It is one of the largest programs in the nation, with nearly 20 board-certified urologists and researchers who treat more than 50,000 patients annually. Many of them conduct research in clinical patient trials or in laboratory settings. Our physicians have appointments at leading medical schools in Michigan, New York and Ohio, and belong to local, national and international professional organizations.
At the Vattikuti Urology Institute, patients have access to the nation's most innovative technology and surgical techniques. At the same time, they have access to caring professionals who focus on treating the whole patient. We suggest integrative medicine approaches, education and counseling, and home health care, whenever appropriate, to help meet the individual treatment needs and recovery expectations of each patient.
